Finding your way around
Once users have logged into Hornbill, they gain access to a variety of applications and information based on their rights and roles.
Navigating Hornbill
To get you where you need to be, take note of these important parts of the Hornbill platform:
- Hornbill toolbar, at the top of your screen.
- Profile toolbar, including access to a list of handy keyboard shortcuts.
- App toolbar, the vertical toolbar below the Hornbill toolbar.
- Side panel, the vertical toolbar to the right of your screen.
- Configuration, in the bottom left of your screen.
Hornbill toolbar
The icons in the Hornbill toolbar link to the following:
- Hornbill apps and links
- Home view
- Search
Profile toolbar
The icons in the Profile toolbar link to the following:
- Availability
- Notifications
- Mentions
- Profile menu
Keyboard shortcuts
To assist with quick navigation around Hornbill, there are several keyboard shortcuts you can use.
To access the list of keyboard shortcuts:
- (On Windows) Use the keyboard shortcut
ALT+0. - (On Mac) Use the keyboard shortcut
CTRL+0.
App toolbar
The app toolbar displays a list of icons for the different applications that you have access to.
To change the order in which your apps are listed:
- Click the Configuration cog to go to Configuration.
- Navigate to My Personal Settings > Navigation Bar.
- Drag and drop the applications into your desired order.
Side panel
The side panel, located on the right side, gives you quick access to areas of your various applications. Some side-panel options are context-sensitive and only display when accessing particular parts of your available apps.

Configuration
At the bottom of the left-hand vertical menu bar is a Configuration option.
The cog icon takes you to Hornbill Configuration. This will default to your user profile settings, and additional configuration options may be available based on the roles that you have been given.
