Description

This flowcode operation links an asset to another asset, request or other system entity.

Request Parameters

The linkAsset API takes the following input parameters.

Note

When sending a JSON request payload to the API, the order of parameters is not significant. However, for XML request payloads, parameters must be provided in the exact order specified in this documentation to comply with input validation requirements.

Name Type Required Description
leftEntityId xs:string Yes The id of the first entity to be linked.
leftEntityType xs:string Yes The entity type of the first entity to be linked. (Asset, Request etc)
leftRelType xs:string No The relationship type of the first entity to be linked. (Connected to, Installed On etc)
rightEntityId xs:string Yes The id of the second entity to be linked.
rightEntityType xs:string Yes The entity type of the second entity to be linked. (Asset, Request etc)
rightRelType xs:string No The relationship type of the second entity to be linked. (Connected to, Installed On etc)
dependsOn xs:string No The link dependency, if any.

Response Parameters

recordsLinked xs:boolean true if records linked successfully, otherwise false
exceptionName xs:string The name / code of any exception thrown during the linking of the asset.
exceptionSummary xs:string A description of any exception thrown during the linking of the asset.
